While reading the short article on LOS SIETE INFANTES DE LARA, I noticed two things. First it is called an awit or corrido. But my research reveals that it was presented as a three-act tragedy in the TEATRO TAGALO DE QUIAPO in 1865. I have found a number of texts such as this being presented as plays or dramas beginning as early as 1848. Francisco Baltazar is the best known author. He is regularly identified in the advertisements for the theater companies. Just thought you might be interested. William Summers
