Antiques are objects from a hundred or more years ago that have been preserved. They could be utilitarian objects, decorative items, or religious figures. They are cherished for their beauty and workmanship as well as representations of the past. In the Philippines, many antiques are items from the Spanish period, though some of the older ethnic crafts are also sought after as collectible antiques. In general, the antiques most sought after are those objects and designs that are no longer made and have aesthetic appeal.
